The Tika-Bur™ CTT ceramic bur is a specialized rotary instrument for soft-tissue cutting in dentistry. When attached to a high-speed handpiece (turbine), it can be used for cutting gingival (gum) tissue.
This product is available in two types: a short version (CTT-S) with a 5 mm length, and a long version (CTT-L) with a 7 mm length. Both models serve similar applications, so the appropriate type is chosen based on the treatment site and the access required.

The main difference is the tip length: the short model is 5 mm and the long model is 7 mm. Both have the same applications; the choice between them depends on the treatment site and the access required.
This product is packaged non-sterile and must be sterilized before each use. Sterilization is carried out in a standard autoclave at 134°C for 3 minutes, and it is recommended to place it inside a metal pouch/cassette during this process.
No; unlike most dental burs, the ceramic bur must be used dry, without water. The water spray should be turned off, because the heat generated by friction is necessary for tissue removal and blood vessel coagulation, and the presence of water would prevent this heat from being generated.
Contact between the bur and bone, teeth, dental restorations, or metal implant components must be completely avoided during surgery, as such contact can cause discoloration and fracture of the bur’s ceramic tip.
